Title: Savage 220 in .22 shot discussed on www.24hourcampfire.com

One of the regular posters on the "Savage Collectors" forum of www.24hourcampfire.com has info and good pix on a Utica-made 220 in ".22 shot" today.  His handle is GeneB.  The gun (not for sale) is just about new (good pix--wish I could do those!) except for (last pic) somebody mutilated the buttstock....

Is the muzzle on his gun choked or bored out?  The view of the muzzle doesn't look like .22 caliber to me!

Looking at the original poster's pix and text, I see that the bore enlarges to about .360 at the muzzle, so it doesn't look like a .22.  Are yours like that Garnett? (I can't get to your book right now).

Yes, the barrel is counter bored from the muzzle for a depth of 16 inches.  More comments later after  I look at the pictures you mention.
