Title: Hello Everyone

I am from Texas and have two Savage guns now - a 220B in .410 bore, and a combo gun - 30-30 / 16 gauge that I just acquired from a Pennsylvania gun dealer.  The .410 is an awesome gun - I killed 17 rabbits with it ~ 3 weeks ago.  Its a beautiful gun as well, not used much, with wonderful case colors, and what appears to be a date code of 29k.  The combo gun has 30-30 barrel and 16 gauge 28" full choke barrel with identical numbers.  It also is in very good shape, although I have not shot it yet.

Really glad to find this site, and others who enjoy these guns as much as I do.  I also have Model 37 Winchesters, but I like the Savage guns more.

Jaegerjp, Thanks for joining our forum!  Thanks for sharing this info with us.  Your .30-30/16 gauge is considered a "Utility" gun and had their own model numbers.  Your model number is a 222.  These numbers were listed in catalogs, but never put on the guns.  They are sorta hard to find.  They came with two barrels and two forearms.  The "K" means it was made in 1959.  It is thought that the "29" may be an inspector's number, but not sure about that.  I hope you will enjoy this site and continue to use it.  Best wishes, Garnett
