Title: WTB: Early good/great condition 22 Hornet barrel
Post by: Sentry44 on October 11, 2017, 03:00:51 PM
Hi Gents,

I want to buy an early 22 Hornet barrel.  Just the barrel...don't worry if you don't have the forearm because I have one from my 30-30 which I'm assuming will fit.

Sentry 44, Be sure to check Ebay and Gun Broker.  Barrels are frequently found there.

Yeah, I look there all the time.  Just don't see one.  I've seen a couple when I WASN'T looking, but they are usually in poor shape.  I would like to find a solid one to go with my 30-30 & 12-16-20 barrels.

I HAD a 12 gauge barrel with the adjustable polychoke, but I sold it because strangely it wouldn't close correctly on face on my frame.  Couldn't figure it out, so I sold it.

Have only seen one other polychoke since...also a 12 ga.

There has been a Hornet barrel on E-Bay until this morning.   Last bid I saw was $159, I think.

Thx Garnett,

I did see that one but with the cost of GOOD bluing i figure that barrel is gonna end up being a $300+ "investment."

I just want one I can use!

So...still looking.  Anyone wanna sell me one??  Must be Utica, and must be D&T'd.  I sonr need mint, or even great condition.  Just a good solid barrel without rust that has its sights on it.

Will do.

My gun is an early style 219 ("- 219 -") 30-30.  I also have 16 ga and 20 ga barrels.

I need the Hornet barrel becauae i sold a Savage 23D (which i liked, but was offered too much money not to sell) and now i have a zillion rounds of Hornet and no gun to shoot em.

I guess there are worse problems in life...

My fave ammo in the 23D was PPU 45 gr soft points, which I have lots of, so hopefully i find a 219 barrels which shoots these straight.

For any who read this...I'm not trying to steal one.  If you have a good 22 Hornet barrel and will part with it I will deal.

Sentry, at the prices some people on E-Bay and Gun Broker are asking for just a barrel, you may do better buying the whole gun.  Just a thought.
