Title: Hello from Central PA

Hello from central PA. Fortunately I was pointed to this board by Garnett, a really good guy that likes to share his knowledge of Savage 219/220's and other guns.  I collect Savage and Stevens guns and Garnett's books got me more interested in these great single shot savages.  Over the past two years or so I have been able to acquire 219's in 22 hornet, 30-30, 219 zipper, 22-3000(R2 Lovell) and one of the unusual .38/.357mag barrels.  My 220s are .410 and 20ga.
Some of the topics listed on this Board look like a lot of fun to look into: rechambering worn or Bubba-smith barrels, old manufacture research, breathing new life into old guns, hearing about other collectors finds, and convincing the wife one more gun won't hurt.........I also have some knowledge of Savage & Stevens guns (pre 1970) and like to share info.
Also hello to the fellow vets out there. Happy collecting.

Thanks for joining with us and for the compliment on my books.  Please share your story of how you found the 9MM/.357 barrel.  These barrels are fairly rare.  I purchased a .219 Zipper caliber barrel conversion but have not shot it yet.  Best wishes, Garnett
