Title: Reloading for the 219
Post by: Bearhands on August 06, 2018, 09:09:41 AM
I am wondering if anyone is reloading cast bullets for the 219?  If so, a gentle load that will be accurate to 100 yrds .

I have had good luck reloading for the 30/30 with cast bullets. tried cast with my hornet and gave up, they were not good at 100; My 30/30 loads are with Unique pistol powder.  8.8 grains Unique w/ 170 grain cast flat nose with gas checks, crimped. I shoot them in a Winchester model 54 bolt gun with  outstanding accuracy. with the 219 you do not have to use flat nose bullets so you have a bigger choice of bullet weights and  Unique loads are fairly light.

Thanks gkmckenzie!  That is about exactly what I was hoping for.
