Title: Model 221 set
Post by: Cleetus on January 29, 2023, 06:00:21 PM
I just made a deal on a Savage 221 set. .30-30, 30 inch 12 gauge set. Matching barrel and forearm markings. Garnett would call it the 2nd model Utica. Cast trigger guard and second style machined forearm iron. Original condition good to very good for the vintage.

Stay tuned for pictures when it arrives.

Here goes,
Garnett, these should be all the pictures you need for your data base. Note the letter next to the hinge pin as well. Both forearms are marked with 36 to match to the barrels. The .30-30 barrel has seen very little use and is "almost" as new. everything is tight and functions with a good trigger pull like the early Utica models can have.

P.S.
I noticed I can't see the H stamped on the frame near the hinge pin in the picture.

These are great pictures!  I am going to have to do a little research.  I had 3 of these sets, and while I think the forearms were numbered inside, I don't recall the number matching the frame/barrel.  Thanks for sharing with us.
