WTB Savage 219 buttplate and Screws
« on: March 25, 2017, 06:37:22 PM »
I am looking for a Buttplate and screws for my Savage 219. I ordered one from Numrich arms, (Gun Parts Corp) but the screw holes don't come close. Please can anyone help?

Cherokee, I believe what Numrich has is a "Replacement" buttplate.  I purchased one a while back.  It looks good, but as you say, the holes do not properly align.  Also, mine was slightly over size.   This worked well as my gunsmith filled one hole and drilled a new hole.  Then he "dressed up" the overage in size and it looks very good.  For an original, try E-Bay.  I have gotten lots of 219/220 parts from them.  However, I wonder how many originals will be an exact fit? Good luck on your hunt.  Please let us know what happens.  Garnett
