20 gauge 220 Different Internally
« on: April 04, 2015, 07:28:09 PM »

A reader sent this picture of a very early Utica action that is different from the ones pictured in my book.  Do any of you have one like this?  I am going to research my other actions to see if I do have one like it.  For my book, I only took the stock off one action of each model for photos.  I will post the results later.

As of today, I have examined 4 early Utica guns both 219 & 220's and have not found an action with the internal parts like this action.  Still looking.

UPDATE 9-11-17    I have not checked all my actions closely, but in doing research for my Revised Edition , printed in August, 2017, my gunsmith advised me that while some of the actions had the same suffix,  they were different inside  and parts would not interchange, unless all of the parts were changed out.  So, it would seem the factory was constantly changing internally, for reasons that may remain unknown.
