219 with Tenite stock

Garnett, Last night I watched a you tube video in which a gun collector showed a 219 with a "tenite" plastic stock and forearm. Have you ever seen one? I have a Stevens 22-410 that has that stock. I'm going to compare it to my 219 to see if they are compatable. Luke

No, I do not have one in my collection and I have not seen one for sale or listed in the Savage catalogs.  However, I think it is entirely possible that it is factory original as I have several items in my collection, not listed in Savage catalogs, that I believe to be factory original.  I am not sure the forearm will fit but the stock should.  But, there again, I have noticed some small differences in the wood stocks and even though the frames are supposedly the same, there is a difference in the way they fit.

Garnett, The tenite forearm fits the 219 perfectly. I measured the stock and they are different thicknesses at the frame and the tangs are different lengths. Luke

Thanks for this update info.  I have a M24 with the Tenite but have not tried fitting a wood stock/forearm and vise versa.  To be sure I understand perfectly....the Tenite stock cannot be used on a 219/220 action, correct?  The Tenite forearm will fit what size barrel on a 219/220?

Yeah, some M24's had those in early years.  They looks kind of pretty, but an old gun guy I know who has owned 24's and 22/410's for ages told me that they had a bad reputation for cracking if you shot the shotgun on a super cold day.  Just what he said...I wouldn't know.

They look like fancy wood when you see them from across a room!
