J. Stevens No. 180?

(1/2) > >>

Clance:
I recently purchased a single shot shotgun that I pretty sure is a Stevens No. 180 in 20ga.  I've try and research the weapon but I have found very little on the web in my search.  Can someone direct me to a possible resource where I can learn more about this neat little shotgun?  My primary questions are how many were produced and in what numbers for the individual barrel lengths and gauges.   Thank you!

Garnett:
Clance, I am not familiar with this model.  Can you post a picture?  That might help other readers.  Good luck on your search.

Garnett:
I saw one of these at a gun show not long ago.  It appears to be a well made action, but much more complicated than the later 219/220's.

Garnett:
I looked this gun up in one of my info books from 2005, "Standard Catalog of Firearms".  It does not list the 180, but starts with the 182 which is a much cheaper gun.  Google "Stevens 180 Shotgun" and you will find some interesting information.  This was a high quality gun for single barrels at the time.   A unique feature is the ability to convert from standard to auto ejector with 2 turns of an adjustment screw.
